The group met at the Pool Cafe in Hathersage (see photo) for a pre-excursion brunch and then drove to the Surprise View carpark before venturing into Bole Hill Quarry.
The weather was wonderful, a crisp, sunny Autumn day which lit the silver birches to perfection. We were, sadly, a little late in the year for the best of the Autumn colour but the weather conditions more than compensated.
After Bole Hill we repaired once more to the Pool Cafe for re-fuelling and the group (minus self and wife) then drove to Stanedge for the sunset which, I am sure, was excellent.
Sincere thanks to Doug who, if members are interested, will I am sure be happy to arrange more workshops in the future.
